OUR CLUB HISTORY
Port Hunter 4x4 Club began as the Crossroads Mitsubishi 4WD Club in April 1984 at Glendale. This led to our first club trip to Chichester State Forest.
The club’s aim was to enjoy our great outdoors through off road adventures with a focus on family oriented day trips and camping.
Our first touring trip to Fraser Island in 1986 was the start of many more touring adventures over the years.
By 1987 the club needed to structure because of its growing membership. We changed our name to Port Hunter 4x4 Club and became an incorporated association.
This led to more member benefits such as social outings and driver training. We also joined the 4WD Clubs association.
Over the years, we’ve seen children that grew up in the club become members as adults. They continue to share the Port Hunter experience with their own children.
Almost 40 years since we began, the club runs a mix of trips each month. Our trips cater for all experience levels, and include a mix of social outings, day trips and weekend campouts.
We keep in touch with our members with our website, Facebook, Instagram, and our monthly meetings and magazine.
Club membership is approaching 100 and our trips take us all around the country.
We welcome new members that share our enjoyment of four wheel driving and our family friendly values.
We encourage all our members to be involved in running the club.
